Have you ever just wished you could lift your pen off the paper and see your drawing become a real three dimensional object? Well now you can!
The idea behind the 3Doodler is that it takes the core functionality of a 3D printer, essentially an extruder and a heat source, and jams it into a pen-shaped handheld device. Loaded with either ABS or PLA plastic, common feedstock for traditional 3D printers, the 3Doodler “prints” plastic objects by letting you draw them in freehand in three-dimensional space.
Polytron Transparent Smartphone Prototype : 1st Hands On (Video)
In fact, Google is eating its own dog food by hosting the instructions on how to do this yourself, on Google Drive. Here’s what you have to do: Create a new folder in Drive and share it as “Public on the web.”
Upload your HTML, JS & CSS files to this folder.
Open the HTML file & you will see “Preview” button in the toolbar.
Share the URL that looks like www.googledrive.com/host/… from the preview window and anyone can view your web page.
The BendDesk prototype sets out to merge the two separate vertical and horizontal desktop work areas into one enabling “continuous interaction between both areas”. The multi-touch environment allows the user to interact with the entire surface using direct manipulation and multi-touch gestures and can be used to display a wide array of digital content such as documents, photos, videos etc.
Though you and I might not be able to imagine what’s next in the world of technology and mobile connectivity, Google certainly can. Recently Google co-founder, Sergey Brin, announced the newest gadget from Google’s innovative practice, Google Glass. Throw on a pair and see the world, literally, from a new perspective - capture, send, and download information and images based on what you see… get location and background information, call on your glasses to send an image… the future seems to be here now…
Scheduled to hit stores in 2014, Google Glass seems positioned to radically change our connectivity to the world and each other… and give us all some cool new eye ware too. For more, check out this great piece on this new technology.

Artificial and 3D-printed Meat from Modern Meadow
US start-up Modern Meadow believes it can do just that - by making artificial raw meat using a 3D bioprinter. Peter Thiel, one of Silicon Valley’s most prominent venture capitalists, Paypal co-founder and early Facebook investor, has just backed the company with $350,000 (£218,000). Set up by father-son team Gabor and Andras Forgacs, the start-up wants to take 3D printing to a whole new level. […]
Alright so CES, The Consumer Electronics Show that goes down in Vegas, has the Swag Is More already wanting to blow money on Black Friday. There are some upcoming tech releases that are really dope. Check out what we think stole the show.
4K AND OLED TV’S:
These Ultra High Def TV’s will be hitting stores by the boatload over the next few months and are sure to be the target of most Black Friday shoppers. A few to look out for are the SONY Ultra HD OLED, the Samsung 85 inch UHDTV, and the LG 55 inch OLED.
When it some to the Computers, we didnt see a Windows 8 Product that we didnt like. The Windows 8 PC’s come in many shapes, sizes, and form factors and are all built to adapt to be useful in any situation. One to look out for here is the Lenovo Yoga 11s. This has the full Pro version of Windows 8 and can be used as a tablet, PC, or a stand. Check it out.
You already saw our post on the Smart Watches but the best gadget we saw out of CES has to be the Smart Eating Utensils. Its still January and most of us are just barely clinging on to those New Years Resolutions to get fit in 2013. These utensils will help. The fork or spoon keeps track of how long you eat, how quickly and how many bites you take. It then shares these metrics with a site and an app. If you eat too quickly the fork or spoon will vibrate to let you know to slow down a touch. The $99 HAPIfork ships in Q2 this year.
WHAT WAS MISSING:
The story of what was missing is not a bad thing. Its a good thing. No cell phone stuck out to us. This is mostly due to the fact that cell phones are all packing a pretty heavy punch these days. Its easily arguable that the iPhone is no longer the best phone, that the S3 is all hype, and that there’s Fifty dollar phones out there (see Pantech Discover) that might be better than the top of the line phone you are holding to read this post. Until HTC unveils that “coded mystery phone”, the S4 rumors turn into an actual press release, or we get word on a cheaper iPhone or even a 5S nothing is really moving us. Let’s see where this goes.
